The new Qualified Opportunity Zones program, created in 2017’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, will open the door to new funding vehicles for investing in socially responsible and fiscally viable infrastructure development projects around the country. The Opportunity Zone projects will be a significant tool that will revitalize neighborhoods through public private partnerships. Opportunity Zones are designed around communities and the infrastructure development will necessarily include related projects inside and outside these zones, which makes the perfect catalyst for public private partnerships.
The OpportUnify Edge events will closely explore the Opportunity Zones program and consider some of its most promising applications for the Southern California urban areas. Our panelists will answer key questions including: What is the impact to local entrepreneurs and their investors? What does an opportunity zone project look like for the Inner Cities? How can it impact the need to restore infrastructure for underserved communities?
